When the world feels overwhelming, creative work often takes a backseat to everything else. It can be hard to focus, hard to care, hard to begin. But even in heavy times, it helps to have something that reminds you: you are still a creative being.

The Tether offers a gentle kind of structure: A weekly rhythm to help you stay connected to your practice, your voice, and others who are trying to do the same.

It’s not a class or a challenge. There are no deadlines, no assignments, no expectations to “catch up.” Instead, it’s a shared space to return to—a weekly touchstone; an empathetic, open place to keep going in community.

First cohort: June 9 – August 2, 2025

The Tether is donation-based for this first round (pay what you can—even if that’s nothing).

If it resonates, you’ll find the full details below—along with a link to sign up when you’re ready.

What to Expect

This space is built on care, not pressure.

  • Absolutely no deadlines, no pressure to produce. This is focused on being, not doing.

  • Everyone is encouraged to come as they are. Even if you’re tired, overwhelmed, or barely managing.

  • We’ll celebrate small sparks:  A single sentence, a simmering idea, a moment of inspiration.

  • We will work towards inclusive routines and rituals rather than goals or outcomes.

  • Many opportunities to check-in, chat, share, and connect. Everything is housed on Slack and asynchronous. Show up on your terms/when you can.

What’s Included

The Tether is made up of a robust online community, weekly Zoom co-writing sessions, and optional partners or pods. Here’s what you can expect.

  1. Weekly Tether Notes

Gentle, creative notes to support you through the week. Delivered on Slack.

May include:

  • a reflective prompt or Tarot spread

  • a quote or image

  • a question to carry through the week

  • a tiny ritual

2. Optional weekly co-writing session

Alternating a Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Camera optional; come as you are.

3. Dedicated Slack Workspace

Some channels might include:

  • “I wrote today” thread

  • Activism resources & shares

  • Pep talks + commiserating

  • Glimmers: quotes, links, poems, tiny wins

  • More threads will emerge as we go

4. Optional partner or pod

For folks who want a more personal connection during the program, you’ll have the option to be paired with a tether buddy or placed in a small pod. This is great if you’d like to check in more regularly, meet someone new, or just have a direct line to another person who’s also trying to keep going. No pressure, no assignments—just a simple way to feel less alone.

Who it’s For

The Tether is open to all, but specifically designed for:

  • Writers and creatives seeking connection without pressure

  • Anyone feeling creatively disconnected but still wanting to stay close to the spark

  • Folx who find their practice shaped by the world around them and want space to talk about it

  • People who value vulnerability, depth, and ritual

  • Neurodivergent creatives and anyone struggling with isolation, self-motivation, or limitations

What it’s Not

This isn’t a class, a critique group, or a challenge.

It’s not goal-oriented or feedback-heavy.

It’s also not a place to disappear into.

This space works best when you can show up regularly, even imperfectly. If that doesn’t feel possible right now, that’s more than okay. There will be more opportunities. Honor your capacity.

How to Sign Up

Please use this enrollment form to sign up. There are a few short questions for you to respond to. If you’d like to donate, you can do so by clicking the link at the end of the form or heading over to our Gumroad page.

Space is limited—not to create urgency, but to honor the intimacy of this space. I want everyone to feel seen, supported, and present.
