Writing Estrangement: Winter Season support

Tickets are available on Humantix.

EVENT RESCHEDULED TO DECEMBER 17

This event is exclusively for estranged adult children and those estranged from siblings or families of origin, providing a supportive community to connect with others who share similar experiences. We’re happy to host this a second time, and the prompts and focus will be different from our first session.

About this Workshop

This workshop holds space for individuals navigating family estrangement. There will be an emphasis on support around the holiday season, as this can be a difficult time.

Over 90 minutes, we’ll engage in guided writing prompts, reflections, and shared moments of support.

Please note: I am not a mental health provider, but am here to offer a space for reflection, growth, and mutual support as someone estranged from my own family.

You’ll leave with new writing, a better understanding of your experience, and the solidarity of others walking a similar path.

Writing Our Selves workshops are NOT recorded, as they are meant to be intimate sessions with time to write or share. If you can't make it but you'd like the prompts, feel free to enroll and I'll send the slides after the live call.

This workshop is part of the Writing Our Selves series. Previous and future topics include perimenopause, loneliness, and motherhood.

What to expect

We will spend approximately 60 minutes doing some reflective writing. I will provide several different writing prompts, but you are welcome to spend that time writing about whatever you want. We’ll then have about 30 minutes to chat—anyone who wants to share some of their writing is welcome, and we’ll also allow for general discussion on writing about estrangement.
